The article was praising Stern a lot:
“When you go on ‘Stern,’ you get the best insight into who the person is of any medium other than maybe the New Yorker,” says Bob Lefsetz, a music industry critic who writes the popular Lefsetz Letter.

Publicists urge their celebrity clients to hit “The Howard Stern Show” if they want to make an impact, and tidbits from those interviews spill onto gossip pages across the country. When Stern interviewed the elusive actor Bill Murray last year, producer and screenwriter Judd Apatow tweeted that it was “the Bill Murray we all have waited our entire lives for.”

“I think ‘Howard Stern’ is the most important show in any medium,” says music manager and publicist Jonathan Wolfson, who says he’s placed about a half-dozen of his clients on the show, including Hall and Suge Knight. It can still take persuasion to persuade clients that it’s safe, he says, but it’s been worth it every time. One client, consumed by a legal crisis, had an entire suite of handlers who were familiar only with Stern’s provocative side and were deeply wary.

The negatives were from Jackie and Stuttering John and they were limited to the fact he changed.
Jackie even said “You know that if we’re talking about it,” says his old sidekick Martling, “he’s doing the right thing.”
I didn't see that many negatives or anything too DawgShed

Very good article. Gives both sides of the "new" Stern show argument. Just wish the article went into the Marci Turk part of the equation. He's going to renew but work a lot less . Maybe two shows a week . with more weeks off. This will be announced Wednesday like we all should be thankful that we get a overly political correct , animal and all gay loving , Hollywood kiss ass Howard. He should have retired 5 yrs ago.

Howard is the best interviewer in the business but last several months his interviews have gotten lazy with the same 10 boilerplate questions.

80% of America does not subscribe to SXM, so that quote is laughable.

Its another paid advertisement for wiggy's show. These articles always fail to mention that each celebrity is doing the same exact interview on 20 other shows. Also, the ad demo 18-49 don't care about bill murray or don Henley or Madonna or 99% of the people wiggy interviews. They should do an article about whats real, like him being a sad old queen with a brain damaged, gold digging beard. Id buy that for a dollar.

It's even more laughable when you consider that 80% of the people who do subscribe to SXM don't include Howard in their listening selections.

I thought it was a pretty well-balance article, relative to the other fluff pieces.

But I think the important question here is, is Stern REALLY that good an interviewer?

I mean, he throws the same tics every fucking interview, "Look at yooooouuuuuu!", for example.

He gets a LOT of facts wrong and gets called out on it by the interviewee. "You didn't? Where did I get that wrong, Robin?". EVERY................FUCKING..............INTERVIEW.

So much for 'Prep Pah Ray Shun'/

The ONLY thing he has going for him is the open-ended format, whereby he can take as much time as he likes with a guest.

Otherwise, I just find him mediocre for the most part.

Nice timely reporting, "soft" Stern happened almost a decade ago now.

It wasn't Stern being a great interviewer, it was not having a time limit or endless commercials during the interview to ruin the flow. Plus he (at least used to) asked hardball questions instead of the Jay Leno-style-fluff-my-nuts-and-help-me-sell-my-product.

This article was mostly kiss-ass and paints the Dawg folks as a bunch of cretins who can't get with the times.
