His $350,000 salary is probably only the tip of the iceberg, he probably has a car provided by the organization, top notch health insurance, an expense account for his meals etc........

True and it could be solved easily by removing the tax exemption for churches and non-profits that don't meet certain standards. NSAL's use of 1 out of every 6 dollars to pay for parties for the amaaaaaazing one and her friends should be an automatic revocation of tax exempt status.

Screw it, tax 'em all. If an organization can afford to pay its executives (or clergy or "foundation") six figures it can damn well pay some taxes.

My grandpa 30 years ago used to say churches were the best scam going. There was a lutheran church in our town that had a bowling alley attached to it (tax free). You're right though a simple rule change would get rid of a lot of bullshit. It will never happen though.

People often mention the terrible CharityNavigator ratings, but I just noticed that the North Shore Animal League didn't even RESPOND to the Better Business Bureau's inquiries!

Upload it at tinypic, imgur, imageshack, or a similar place, and paste the URL here with the image button.

why do you think shitheads like revrund jackson and rev al sharpton are "ministers"???
we should take every single exemption away from religious organizations and tax them.
we should also take away tax benefits from non-profits where the execs make absurd salaries....(i can't help but wonder if the amaaaaaazing one is a paid "spokesperson"...if she is she's being paid too much.

Holy crap. The only one who has ANYTHING to do with animals, an actual trained doctor, is at the bottom, getting barely getting 100K!

The webmaster gets more than him!

Those numbers seem reasonable for a relatively large organization, but what I'm wondering is exactly how many hours these people are working for their 100K+ and if they have jobs outside of NSAL.

The 350K is a joke for the President. CFO's of large FOR PROFIT companies sometimes do not bring that type of money in.

Is he/she the founder of NSAL? I assume this person was an already wealthy individual.
