These guys are one of my favorites. I would love to see the brothers again. Maybe they will get back together.

I tell you, I love the jam bands, but this is one I couldn't latch onto. No offense, just my $0.02.

I can hear a cover band playing Journey in the park and it sounds awful

    None taken, my man.

I actually never, ever, considered them a jamband. I think they get lumped into the category because they played the first Bonnaroo, and Phish covers "Roses are Free."

You live in/around Chi, right? What park do you live by?

I'm in the Burbs, so not one of the parks. Rather, the big park in my town.

Gotcha. I grew up just outside the burbs, in Joliet

Yeah, not exacty a jam band, but as you say, they get lumped in. I have friends that play them quite a bit.

I'm due north pretty much, almost in Wisconsin.

Too many Packer fans here being close to the border

I've loved Ween for like 20 years now. For anyone who cares, Dean Ween runs a guided fishing charter out of New Jersey now. How cool would it be to go fishing with Dean Ween? (I think It's New Jersey anyway).

I remember reading an interview with them several years ago. They were complaining because they would be in bars, and people would always want to get into intense musical conversations with them, but they really wanted to talk about fishing and baseball.

I had this weird empathy, because at school, I was the kid with the radio show, who went on Phish tour. People would always get into musical conversations with me, and then be completely and utterly shocked that I knew so much about sports.

I hear ya Chigs. Just goes to show that just when you think you know someone, they turn out to be funnier and cooler than you thought.

I suppose people just have a tendency to look at people like the do in "The Breakfast Club." I wouldn't want to hang out with anyone who was one-dimensional.

You're probably right. The nice thing is that one-demensional people are sort of a dieing breed these days.

To bring this back to Ween, I think that at some point they will be regarded as geniuses and get their just rewards...when they're dead.

I think they will have a cultish following, revered by some, reviled by some, and inconsequential to most.

You're probably right but damn, such good shit on a consistent level. On the other hand, when people say they don't like Ween, I get it. You either like them or you don't it seems.

And one more thing. Frank Black and the Catholics' first album is one of the best albums ever made. I know it has nothing to do with Ween but who cares.
