I'd like to ask these fools, do you sympathise with the killers now that close to 200 are dead or dying?

When we live in a country where a seriously significant number of British Muslims think a massacre was okay, how far away are we from our own day of reckoning? How far away are we from our own Friday 13th, a horror of our own making?

The answer is: not very far.

For now it's time to put our arms around the people of France, to blow softly on their wounds to try and stop the sting, and to wait quietly in the room next door with tissues and cups of tea.

After that we face a choice.

We can sit and wait for the fear to come to us. Or we can remember who we are and what we value, and start defending it.

We have spent far too long tiptoeing around the cultures of those who choose to join us, instead of protecting the culture they have chosen to join.

This must change. We need to stand side by side with France.

As hours turn into days, the mothers kneeling at their dead child's grave will come to see Hollande is right.

ISIS has attempted to crush the hearts of the French people. It's time to take the fight to the cold, stony heart of ISIS.

we don't have a unique culture. our way of life is an amalgam of others. some others should not be included in ours though, like the islamic culture.

Well, we have (had) a unique Judeo Christian culture of traditions and holidays. Democracy, equal rights, the way the law says we should treat and include our women, our values. Freedom, freedom of religion. Our values are in scripted in the constitution.

 

yes but they are not unique. much of our values are from the Magna Carte, and in the French constitution (whatever existed before 1958). We just combined them.

 

we have similarities to the other civilized countries. most of the middle east is not civilized and never will be, because their people cannot read and do not believe they should fight for their rights. they are indoctrinated into living for whatever their clergy says they should do, yet we go after their military leaders when we should be eliminating their clergy.

Our culture is unique.
It is the first one to exist on the planet under a document like the US Constitution.
Nothing like the US Constitution has ever existed before or since.
Everywhere else on the planet, people knew themselves only as SUBJECTS and slaves.

No other document of government ever stated the Individual was Supreme.

The US Constitution deliberately LIMITS the power of Government is unique in that regard.
