What were the circumstances and how'd it turn out? Gallagher: he stands out front in the lobby before all of his shows. Very approachable and very easy to talk to. I chatted at length with him as to how much of a fan I was, traded stories about being chemical engineers and truly enjoyed listening to the man. He still shopped at the local supermarket before every show and is really someone I wish I could just give a billion dollars to so they'd never have to worry about money again and could live their life how they truly wanted. Larry bird & Reggie Lewis' family. I was an usher at a nationally televised charity telethon for the family of Reggie Lewis. Before hand, they toured how much free loot we were going to get and how many celebrities we were going to meet. In the end, we all gathered in the university community center for an after party... Not a single celebrity showed... Didn't even get a thank you. Just a bunch of us with thumbs up our asses standing in a dimly lit student center after having just gofered for celebrity publicists and managers all night... Including huffing across Boston to meet up with Robert Parrish's agent to get "something inportant" he forgot, then rushing back to hand over the package to his publicist, who opened it to reveal a bottle of some Shea lotion... Larry bird was the polar opposite. As I was rushing down a long dark hallway which led to the backstage area, Larry bird was walking the opposite direction. I stopped about 5 feet in front of him, shook his hand and thanked him for all that he has done for me and this town. He looked in authentic appreciation, and thanked me for being a fan. We shot the shit for about 5 minutes and then he asked about the package in my hand. I said "oh shit, I have to get this to Robert"... He snickered, shook his head and walked off... Dude was a class act. Thomas Keller: amazing chef. Met him at the french laundry after a meal there. Alec Baldwin: waiting for a flight to Boston from Laguardia, I got there as the final call was being put out there. Strolling in behind me was Alec Baldwin, taking his sweet ass time. We let him go ahead of us. He was seated in like 14f, but stopped at 1a and asked the person there if he'd mind switching. It was like he was pissed that he had to fly commercial. He took up the attention of all the flight attendants and was a general dickwad.
