i just finished an incredible book and am looking for something (preferably fiction)equally thought provoking. the book was "the goldfinch" by donna tartt and it was both heartbreaking and lighthearted but always with an undercurrent of sadness. i couldn't figure out why i felt so melancholy the past few days...it's definitely this book. a story of loss that's so amazing, it was hard to put down. at almost 800pp, i didn't want it to end.

so, what do i read now??????????????????:)

I like biographies, so I will probably read Mike Tyson's book next. He has definitely lived an interesting life, unlike a certain wig wearing Jew who is afraid to go anywhere.

Just finished reading…….read it when it came out. Highly recommend. Personifies the 1980s in NYC.
Race, class, wasps, blacks……..racial tensions. Awesome book.

I've been reading the Aubrey Maturin series of books that started with Master and Commander. There are like 20 books in the series. I won't need to find a new book for a while.

Just finished reading "moby dick" again. Starting on some old Jules Verne stories now with "from the earth to the moon".

If you are a history fan Churchills six volumes about his time during World War 2 are great. I'm re-reading them now.
