    Mine was...

I was about 3-4 yrs old. My mother and I went to the airport, and she ran and kissed this very handsome man in soldier dress blues. When he came to hug me, I realized this man was my dad.

    Yours?

Walking through our old neighborhood with my grandfather seeing people wearing what would have been 60s clothes. Bell bottoms, flag shirts...

I got run over by a semi and was buried. Then I rose from the grave and killed Herman Munster.

My grandfather was the superintendent of his town for the majority of his life. His house was right next door to the town buildings where he worked. After he retired, he would still show up at the diner where the men would all go for their coffee break at 9am daily.
Before I was in kindergarten, my grandparents took care of me when Mom went back to work. I think my earliest memories revolve around going to the diner with Grandpa, where I would get a glass of milk and a jelly donut. I remember his green Ford Fairmont, with the bench seats and the plastic slipcovers. I remember an old house on the way, he would say that he would like to buy and fix up. I remember the smell of that old diner, which is still there 50 years later, btw.

Funny how we remember smells..another memory was a mean babysitter that tried to wash my hair with Prell Shampoo. I can't stand that smell to this day.

What's funny about this topic is the totally benign shit we can remember.

I specifically remember one day over and over again where I was walking from my house to a cousin's with my boombox playing Quiet Riot.
I also remember playing Pinochle at a babysitter's house.

I remember nights when I was about 11 or 12, sitting and staring out the third floor window around Christmas time and seeing all the lights and listening to holiday music on an old AM radio .... the house was a disgusting dive, we were piss poor, and that's one of the fondest memories I have.
