By now, we've all seen how the A-list celebs, the media, and the American public have all celebrated David Letterman's career for the last month or so on his retirement tour. It's been fantastic in that it's caused Gunky to be so butt hurt over all the positive attention that Letterman's been getting. This got me thinking, what will the reaction be when Gunky finally retires? Assuming he's still with Sirius, will they shell out any marboes for a big celebration, a la the Birthday Bash? I think we all know that if Gunky goes to the Pay Podcasting route, he won't throw any of his own cash towards a "fucacta" retirement party? My guess is that Gunky won't see anything close to the love and adulation that Letterman got. It will probably be just Wolfie on the street outside of an OTB in Philly asking homeless people what they thought about the "great" Howard Stern's retirement played over and over again as well as maybe a few puff pieces by Maryanne from Garvey and Beefus going on those shows with the yentas hosting, flailing and bawling her eyes out. Anyone care to give any predictions on how it will go?

Based on the crowd waiting outside of the Letterman show, the farewell party can be held at a Chinese take-out restaurant.

Most people don't realize he's still on the radio, they think he retired when his terrestrial show ended.

He will surely make money out of it somehow.. Gunk will sell his soul for money.. given the hypocrisy i wouldn't at all surprised if he comes out with coffee mugs or tshirts. Probably only reason he doesn't do that is Bucky Buckfuck knows the Gunk's ego will become shattered when he realizes NOBODY cares about him!! Bucky rode that gunk mule till the end buy will know even he knows buying up all the wigs mugs to pump the wigs ego is a horrible investment..already did it with kittengate to no avail

There will be zero point zero fanfare. He'll never top the exit from terrestrial radio "last of a dying breed" speech to a street full of New Yorkers. His audience has been dwindling since 2006 and by the time he retires there will be a whole new generation of people who have no idea who he is.

I think so, too. At most I think it'll be week of clips from over the years, followed by reminiscing, genuflecting and scraping and bowing from Gary, Fred, Robin, Benji and JD and that will be it. Buh and bye.

He will retire, lets in say in 12/31 of some year, and then at some point in March or April someone will call Sirius and ask..."Wasn't Howard Stern on Channel 100? Now, it some cooking show."

The only tributes Howard ever gets are the ones he arranges himself. This won't be any different, the rest of the world knows his only talent is self-promotion and he doesn't deserve any accolades.
