after hearing howard on nicks shows would you have howards sometimes 20 min commercials every hour or the 3-5 min commercials he used to do on regular radio?

For the live subscribers, the 20 minute commercials are an insult, just as they were on terrestrial (because it's entirely possible for a short commute to have nothing but commercial). But for downloaders, the real pain the butt are the tiny commercials jammed into his mouth between breaths during the news. They're harder to fast forward through, and when someone else chops them out it leaves the resulting audio sounding like the mess it is.

I probably didn't answer the question.

For anyone looking for examples of chopped out versions, you'll need to look elsewhere.
While the editors* of such chops sometimes miss an "in-line-ad" during the news, or occasionally miss a full ad break, these versions are said to be much more listen-to-able than the entire shows.

    * eos edits the full ad breaks, while BareBones takes the eos version & kills the beginning bits up to where Howchie comes live, kills the bumpers ("bumper-free"), and the in-line-ads during Robin's news.

Per request, this post has been censored. <sarcasm> What better way of honoring SOPA/PIPA day is there than restricting free speech? </sarcasm>

You should ask Dawg if you're tip toeing the stickied rules thread

I'd like what he promised the listeners in 2005 when he was begging them to spend money on shitty equipment and subscriptions, that they'd only take an occassional break to use the bathroom and reset the studio for a new segment. The gradual adding of long bumpers, news reports, more commercials and in show ads has gotten very tedious.

Yes, exactly. He made it out that there would only be a token amount of commercials, implying that the subscribers covered the costs of doing business, and for a while that was true. It was nearly commercial-free Stern. Was the theory that with his newly reduced salary the mini-ads started getting jammed in during the news? Those are the radio equivalent of those popup ad banners running at the bottom of the show on many lesser cable TV channels.

I don't know what you're talking about. They said Don Corleone did this, and Don Corleone did that, and I said "Sure, why not." Just let my brother fly back to Sicily. You won't get no trouble from me.

EDIT: We need to restrict the mention of file-sharing site names, we don't want anything that even hints at it in the event that there are people on the site looking to cause trouble.

Fair enough, I was just saying it's Dawg's site... not sure if any of the grumblings about the shut down of SFsN held any water... and the folks are protected by Howard since he has their compliance with certain topics... they have embedded CR Stern material posted there
