Doesn't excite me all that much..has normal food really gotten that boring? ‘Ramen Burger’ Set For West Coast Debut In Torrance TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — Will a burger sandwiched between fried ramen noodles become L.A.’s next gastro-phenomenon? After making its debut in New York City in August, the “Ramen Burger†is coming to the Southland for at least 500 lucky – and daring – customers. Created by Keizo Shimamoto, the Ramen Burger is comprised of a ground beef chuck patty on two buns made from freshly cut ramen noodles, all accompanied by a special sauce and veggies. Starting this Saturday, the Ramen Burger will be offered on a “first-come first-serve†basis starting at 11 a.m. at Mitsuwa Market located at 21515 S. Western Avenue in Torrance. The sandwich drew long lines at the Smorgasburg food festival in Brooklyn last month before propelling to Internet and TV stardom on “Today†and “Good Morning Americaâ€. The Ramen Burger’s L.A. debut comes on the heels of the West Coast version of the popular donut-croissant – known back east as the “Cro-Nut†– at Santa Monica’s DK’s Donuts & Bakery and Tony’s Donut House in Huntington Park.
