Just had a personal best - 35 hours of OT in 2 weeks.
Federal government says thanks for the extra taxes.
OT? Who gets paid for OT?
I'm thinking you meant you worked 84 hrs total, and had 4 hrs OT
Salary by the hour is king
12 hour days x 14 for me is 84 hours straight time and 84 hours OT.
I was on salary but I once worked 3 days straight without sleep during an emergency.
I worked 80 hours one week. So that is 40 hours of overtime in one week.
I do. Time and a half. I can work 16 hours of easy overtime and almost double my take home pay. I do at least 8 hours a week.
Me? 176 years.
I'm getting fucked.
Only if you work OT and don't get paid for it.
Salary would be nice because you can leave early sometimes and stay late sometimes and always get the same pay but I can't really leave early on my job because there always has to be someone in this seat. I like overtime because I can do other jobs and still make my time and a half rate. Plus I like having the option. Some weeks if I'm really broke I can work 80 hours and make a fuck ton of cash. I just don't have any off time but it's worth it once in a while.
I'm paid base plus a commission, so in a way I am earning more if I work more hours.
You pretty much can't leave early at a dealership. They pay well but the hours suck ass.
when we were building trading floors it was normal to work 80-105 hours or more weeks for a month and a half and then collapse on a beach for the next 2 months. i never got overtime but the bonuses (and bottomless expense account) for getting the floors done under the allotted time were better than overtime.
400-500 hours of OT a year is enough for me. Thats pretty much a given without having to sign up for it that much around here. The extra cash is nice to sock away for down the road.
