Why does it seem to be so popular there? The bone, krock radio, bubba, spice, howards popularity there(second only to NY), the only state that has artie on terrestrial. Why is florida the last state left where this format thrives? Serious question. 96k-rock and 1025-the bone are two all-day all-'shock talk' stations. That may be two more than any other state in the country. None of this is negative, strictly all out of curiosity.
...advertising. if the demo for the population in the market cities is what advertisers want to target then its a perfect fit. lots of wack news comes out of florida, people who arent retired are partying.
low income... If you want to reach the Hispanic market in CA, radio gives you the most bang for your buck.
They're old... They're the only people that remember when Howard was worth listening to.. Plus, they're old... They haven't discovered the Internet sufficiently to realize how much of a greedy phony Howard is. Plus, they're old. Just like Howard. And can probably relate to wearing amfuckingnscarf in 100 degree weather.
Remember. Everything old is new again. For the past 7-10 years radio has been filled with political shows, pc interviews(Howard) and sports shows. The shock jock/morning zoo is something different on the airways today.
