50s sci fi. And some early 60s Japanese sci fi movies.
Probably the 80's , 90's definitely a close second
Gotta be 80s overall
Although a lot of 80s comedies don’t hold up
I'm a big horror movie fan, and I love the grittiness and nastiness of the 70's and early 80's.
Give me Cannibal Holocaust over The Green Inferno any day of the week.
I also can't stand CGI. If I'm gonna watch a shark movie, I wanna see someone get eaten by a mechanical one, no matter how fake it looks, than some lousy computer generated one.
I answered the question correctly, right?
Name a few 80's comedies that you feel don't hold up
Caddyshack, second half of stripes, strange brew, porkys, revenge of the nerds
Was thinking animal house also but that was 1978 apparently
I disagree with most of that list. I think most 80's comedies still hold up. Porky's didn't, because it sucked in the 80's too.
5 year period ‘78-‘83
I love the early 30s films, especially the pre-codes and horror films. All of them tell a story under 90 minutes. A lot of them are just over an hour. Can't stand these 3 hour bloated epics they make now days.
The 50s science fiction boom would be my second choice.
The 70s grind house era would be my third choice.
The 80s would round it all out.
From the 90s on, films became nothing more than cgi shitfests. I have no favorite films from then on.
that's why the 90's wins. so many great ones.
