    I'll start.

When I was a senior in high school in the spring of 1982, I heard some of my friends talking about the new afternoon guy on WNBC (which was a big-time station then), some weirdo with a nasal, high pitched voice who called himself Howeird Stern. I wasn't a big fan of AM radio back then (except for Mets games on WHN and WMCA) and listened almost exclusively to FM rock stations like WAPP and WPLJ. I tried Howard a few times but he was on from 4 to 8. I wasn't usually listening to the radio after 6 pm so I never heard the second half of the show. I stayed a casual listener until he was fired from NBC in '85 and went to K-Rock in September. People forget that he was originally the afternoon guy on K-Rock, but once he started as the morning guy, I was completely hooked.

    You?

August 1991, a month after Howard started broadcasting in L.A. and when Gwen Stefani was my classmate in a 3D design class in college.

It was a small studio class. Only 20 students.

A guy from New York named Frank turned the show on and my first memory is
Howard asking his mother on the phone "Ma, be honest. Did you ever own a dildo?"

Limo, I figured you would've first heard Stern while aboard the great mothership out in the rings past Saturn.

In 1993 when WBCN in Boston started broadcasting his show. It was a recording of his live show that they replayed at night.

I would say it was around 1991. In Michigan his show wasn't syndicated here and I was too young to remember him at W4. However, one of the cable channels we would get is WGN out of Chicago. WGN would air the Channel 9 show on the weekends at night. I had never heard his radio show but loved the Channel 9 show. Eventually I followed the E! show when it started. Around 1996 when I was in College 97.1 out of Detroit started airing his show and when I would go home once every other month and in the Summer I would catch it.

When he was on WWWW in Detroit. Replaced Steve Dahl. The station went country and he left the market. His show was really primitive then. Pre-Robin. His edgy bit was the Leather Weather woman. And dial a date. Just regular dial a date.
