Discussion in 'The Howard Stern Show' started by baltimore mike, Aug 12, 2015.
I gave up for good around the time of the birthday show in 2014.
Artie's suicide attempt and Howard's rejection of Artie ever since.
"I can't have Artie on the show because I don't want to be responsible for making him uncomfortable or contributing to his drug use."
I still listen when he's live. I find myself changing the dial more and more though. For me, the show started to go down hill when Jackie left. It crashed and burned when Artie was fired.
It was gradual for me.
Little things were bothering me and it was piling up for years.
I finally went cold turkey about 3 years ago.
Now I can't stand to even hear them speak.
AGT... I couldn't take it anymore.
I NEVER listened to this assbag. I've always hated him.
He's not the reason I came to The Shed.....
the move to satellite.
About 6 months after Artie was fired. When Artie left he took all the energy and funny with him and I was just waiting for the show to pick up when they replaced him with a "Win Artie's Job" contest. When it came apparent Howard wasn't filling that chair I knew the show was over. I bailed.
when do we stop making the same threads every week
Still listen. Still think he's the best thing on radio. Still waiting for the next revolution. If this isn't just "finishing" up his contract obligations to the company he no longer likes and this is the new stern... I won't continue paying come next renewal
I dont like the "p c " stern
March 2013. I was running on Stern fumes at that point. But when I found myself in my car with recordings of the show skipping over entire hour-long chunks by holding down the seek button (dull guests, AGT taping recaps, et al), I knew I was just hanging on for no reason. Like many people, losing Artie was the biggest contributor. Once AGT talk took over, and the "new" Howard came shining through in things like the Lena Dunham episode, that just made me run away faster.
About a 2 years ago, but since maybe 2-3 months I am listening again...
Its not that Artie was golden, but take him out and fill the space with wackpack shit, bobo, mfb, and Artie seems limke the messiah in comparison with what replaced him,so Artie I would say.Its so bad,Robins news is the highlight, and I am being serious.
When Howard/Gary declined to have George Carlin on. The reason they stated was that they were not sure if they would get the funny Carlin or the serious Carlin.
A few months after the move to satellite it became apparent the revolution wasn't coming....ever. Repeat after repeat. Vacation after vacation. The lie about taking some Fridays off.....then Thursdays. Stayed on for a while, but stopped listening for good years ago.
I couldn't think of a reason to tune in now.....Have ZERO desire to hear the lazy liar.......
Fuck Shack was the beginning of the end.
Then the way Howard handled Artie's departure shut the door.
