I liked all 6 of the movies. As a child i strongly disliked the ewoks. Jar jar was stupid.
Revenge of the sith was a great star wars. The weakest of all is attack of the clones in my opinion.

And if you want the specific moment, it was the ewok party at the end.

    Prequals.

Phantom Menace kicked off things starring a 10 yr old Darth Vader yelling yippee and Jar Jar Binks.

However warning signs of the jump were coming (though overlooked at the time) with some of George Lucas' changes in the rereleased versions. The went largely unnoticed because we were dazzled by how some of the new technology improved the special effects, jazzed up some backgrounds, and improved the picture quality and sound

A phony CGI looking Jabba the Hutt crowbarred into a New Hope in a pointless scene (which appeared awkward with Han stepping on his tail and referring to him as a human character which he was originally meant to be)

Han shooting first, which completely discredits the basis of his character.

That Godawful new song by Max Rebo's band in Jabba the Hutt's palace.

While it replaces a bad song, the new age Yanni song that capped off Jedi. (A simple classical composition of the star wars theme would have been fun)

Also at the end, changing the ghost image of an old anakin skywalker with the fag who played him in attack of the clones.

Fortunatley Star Wars still endures because the original trilogy is an all-time classic. There are also plenty of great novels, video games, cartoon series, and themepark ride.

I think Disney really has a good shot at turning this thing around. Remember, Star Wars has survived the Star Wars Christmas special, the franchise I believe will make a comeback

When Lucas redid the originals. Fuck your "fancy" Death Star explosions and CGI animals and Jabba the Hut

Somewhere during the production of Return of the Jedi ... decisions like having Ewoks instead of Wookies, and not killing off Han Solo. Instead we got Teddy Bears and Han Solo looking like he's having a hangover the entire movie, he was a bag of luggage. This didn't destroy the entire movie though, it just didn't reach the heights of Empire. But then came the Prequels and Rick McCallum the "yes man". Then it was over, Johnny. IT WAS OVER!

    /thread.

I never had a problem with the Ewoks. They weren't my favorite as a kid, but I never minded 'em. Jar Jar, however, made me hate Ep. I immediately.

Even worse was the midi-chlorians...which I guess was Lucas' lame attempt to try to make Star Wars seem like legit and true science fiction...which it has never been.

The prequels were just awful, awful movies in every regard. They looked like shit, the story was shit, the acting was awful, there was nothing charming or interesting at all. I said it before and I'll say it again. Lucas is not a good filmmaker. A New Hope was a fluke.

Lucas is not a brilliant creator either. Star Wars was just a big ol' pot full of things he liked from other filmmakers (namely Kurosawa). If Lucas should be remembered fondly for anything, it's that he assembled a crew of truly creative and brilliant people and knew when to get the fuck out of the way. To this day most people still think that he directed RotJ and ESB.

What other writers did Lucas rip off beside Frank Herbert and Asimov?

There is a chance for Star Wars redemption with these new movies coming. I'm hopeful for some strange reason.
