Discussion in 'The Howard Stern Show' started by BennyMusolini, Mar 21, 2014.
Coming to this board did it for me.
I knew that Stern lied like a 10 cent whore
but the way he handled Artie was the last straw...
then came the piss on the fans comment..
he was dead to me at that point
You know, not every thought that enters your brain needs to be turned into a thread.
i think i quoted you wonce before
Don't be so bitchy, it's not a bad thread and certainly his best.
Matter of fact i haven't heard a show since soon after Artie left, and I won't listen again until the annoying cackling witch drops dead.
How's that, boy scout?
--His post-suicide and pre-suicide treatment of Artie, who was a glorified wack packer with a mic.
I was particularly miffed when it was not even mentioned until weeks past the new year. PA-thetic "bro" behavior. The show's become nothing but a supreme fag fest since then.
When Robin ascended to "co-host" status.
When "talent" stopped having to participatie in bits or in "personal" conversations.
When they started banning topics of discussion on SFRT and WUS.
When they started editing out shit like Robin's walkouts.
When they started clandestinely controlling SFN content.
When Howard expanded his zone of secrecy from his kids and legally significant issues to everything embarrassing about his life.
When douchebags he used to call "no-talents" whose faces he talked about "punching in" or whose talk shows he used to goof on suddenly became good friends in secret and super talents with no mention of his change in opinion.
When he began doing everything with and for his talentless, vapid wife that he used to rip Imus and other celebutards for doing.
When he didn't go to Gary's mom's funeral (or was it his dad). It was just such a bullshit thing to do to an employee who's worked for you for so long. And Beth could have taken her fake broken foot herself to the hospital.
And the Deena/Piss on my fans phone call too.
You're covering all your bases in case this was a serious question from a spy from his show, huh?
It was the first time I ever wanted to punch him in the face.
Wow what a lying sack of shit
many things pissed me off and helped to erode my love for the show, but i still listened religiously and mostly enjoyed the show until the artie situation. as soon as i read the story on the internets of stabbie artie, i knew he'd never be back on the show and i knew the show would never be good again. i still listened, waiting to hear about artie and out of habit, but enjoyment of the show was 0.0. instead of not getting enough and hating when quittin time came around, i was getting so angry listening to these assholes that i would shut it off early each day. sometimes not making it too long after i turned it on. his AGT hiring announcement is where i finally just stopped. to ween myself off, i continued to listen to mastertape & shuffle, but it quickly got to the point where i couldn't stomach hearing their voices even from the past and on top of that, the channel's handling of archive material was awful. i was hearing the same clip and shows, over and over. and sometimes they'd be further edited from the last play.
I was in denial for a while after Artie departed.
The watershed moment for me was when Howard criticized Ricky Gervais for poking fun at celebrities during the Golden Globes. I recall staring down at the radio in my car and saying, "the fuck?" Later, his obvious phoney denials about lobbying to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol really sealed it for me. I finally admitted to myself that Howard lies constantly to suit his own needs at any given moment.
Now that Howard fully embraces political correctness, it just makes it that much easier for me to despise him.
when they tried to just gloss over the Artie situation, i fully embraced the darkside.
you have it wrong: most of us have never turned against the show. however the show and howard abandoned us pretty much when he went on Sirius and became everything he said he hated.
