Went to the Shrine Circus today here in Dallas (Frisco). It was actually a pretty good show overall. There were about 16 separate acts. Each was introduced in the typical 3-ring circus venue. Interestingly, about 7-8 of the circus performance acts were actually from the last 3-4 years of America's Got Talent. The ring announcer mentioned the acts had been exposed on "national television to millions of viewers across the nation on the America's Got Talent show !!!" Some of the acts today from AGT were the human cannonball guy, a couple of the acrobatic troupes, the older wife and husband magician, the black tumblers group, girl dance & acrobatic troupe, motorcycle daredevil group, bicycle group, dog tricks, etc. Except for the wife and husband magician act (it was really lame), the others were entertaining overall. Funny seeing them at a third-rate circus show though. I was the only one in our group that even knew what AGT was, but I was too embarrassed to explain. I guess that AGT career launch pad didn't really pay off as well as they'd hoped, but I guess it's a good source for circus acts. Must be a tough life traveling with a circus all year.
