How do I get into this show? Too campy for me.
I only liked the Tom Baker years.
I've never seen it but a lot of people that know me tell me I'd love it. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I guess I'm a nerd.
They are busy swallowing loads.

start by watching the first season episodes from 1963 and work your way up to the present. only 50 years of episodes to watch. plus you need to watch the classic episodes multiple times since they weren't as targeted plots as the 2005 revival series are.
Dr. Who. lol
799 eps in all, he should be done by New Years if he shows dedication.
any true fan would
Could you start with the new ones or do you really need to watch all the old ones? I don't have time for that.
Yes, you can start with the new ones, they explain basically everything for first time viewers.
start with the david tennant episodes
I went to the 3D version of the movie last night -- the 3D effects were outstanding -- added quite a bit to it, even though I watched it 3 times on T.V. over the weekend
While I liked Tennant much better, it would make more sense to watch Eccleston's single season because of all the Rose, Jack etc backstory.
you don't need to start with david tennant, but he is the cinderella story: the consumate dr who fan who gets into acting because he loves dr who. does all the science fiction roles he can get, even dr who and related audiobooks, and finally gets to play the doctor. as a rabid fan, he knows exactly how the fans expect the doctor to behave and he brings it to every performance. he even manages to have the doctor fall in love and makes it believable: for 40 years everyone was convinced he couldn't have sex, but Tennants' Doctor catches Billie Pipper.
in the Doctor Who universe David Tennant got the gold ring.
i thought that, if you didn't know the back story Eccleston would be confusing.
