I want to say its from an old monster movie or something, anybody know?
It's the same music when they play Dracula gottfried.
I'm guessing from the Dracula movie may be .
isnt that from mars attacks? i know the other theme they used was from dr who
Thanks yall. Mars Attacks is what I was after.
I guess you have your answer. Though I don't remember that music being in Mars Attacks. Not saying it isn't.
Whatever that music is, it is not the music that Fred actually plays during Eric's calls. You can find the same call by searching for eric 7 22 13. You'll hear something totally different than whatever is in that video. Obviously they didn't have clearance to use it on Howard TV.
The Eric theme's are the one from Dr. Who (like Smoking baby said) and this one -
Limo Wreck, what you posted is only some overdub for HTV. And it might be some generic public domain thing.
Ive been looking up Mars Attacks on youtube and it is very similar, I thought maybe what I was after was buried in the soundtrack somewhere but youre right. Thank you, off to see if that ever got pressed to vinyl.
It has all the space sounding stuff but I'm listening to Mars Attacks right now too (cause I didn't want to lead you astray) and don't hear a match. It really doesn't have an Elfman sound to me. Plus I'm thinking if they wouldn't get clearance for the theme from The Day the Earth Stood Still, would they overdub with something that would also need clearance?
Anyway, I've got a typo in there. The matching video is eric 7 22 13. I'm not linking that video because I've linked some Howard stuff before and it's then gone missing.
Good luck to you!
I've been on an Eric kick on youtube all week. There are 7 and 8 hour compilations of his calls. That little fucker was so angry
Greatest wackpacker of all time. Partly because he gave us little sagas. With the other wackpackers one appearance usually had nothing to do with the one before it. Sometimes there was an update on something. But usually it was an appearance contained within itself.
Eric had chapters to a story. One of the things that bothered me about his death was we were about to get a brand new chapter with his new living arrangement. I can imagine him calling and having to whisper out of fear of waking his parents.
One of them was from the original day the earth stood still
The new and improved celebrity interviewer with a fresh format probably wouldnt take his calls anymore. I can imagine Eric would have taken to social media though and gave Stern a proper bashing.
It's Bernard Herrmann's main title theme from The Day the Earth Stood Still. Tim Burton was a huge fan of that movie and the score, so they used a similar electronic instrument (the theramin) to make Mars Attacks kind of feel like a 1950s movie.
I've been obsessed over the last month with the compilations. You can't appreciate the gift that was ETM until you listen to him in chronological order, like a soap opera. The power he wielded when behind the keyboard and phone was awesome.
Also it's one of the few time you get a glimpse into Howard's humanity as well.
I downloaded all his compilations, and listen to them when I'm getting high and playing video games! lol
I'm trying to imagine that. It's making me laugh. I haven't been high since I was a kid, but I bet is's fun.
I always thought it was Dr Who
