I have two dealerships offering me the same car--Both are 2014's, the same color and have the same options. The only difference is one is brand new and the other is a demo with 4300 miles on it. The new car is $40 per month more, the demo is from the dealer I've leased from for the past 10 years--I'll still go there for service because it's more convenient.

FYI initially they offered me a deal $21 higher than for the new car, but I signed up for some Consumer Reports thing, and got a call from the second dealer---So of course the first guy came back $81 bucks less once he heard what the other guy was offering.

    What would you do?

(Either way my payment is going down either $100 or $140 per month)

My first car was a Hyundai, $142.21 a month, I couldn't even drive it off the lot because I couldn't afford an automatic

    Leasing or buying?

Leasing, I'd go with the demo. Buying, I'd go with the brand new one.

$500 a year savings isn't much to gamble on the demo.

I'd have no problem with the demo if you want to save some money. It should still have warranty and be as good as new. The cache of a new car is costly.
I'm not a big lease guy. If you really want to save money, buy a car instead of leasing.

i just think a $40,000 car loses a little more than that in sale value if it's a demo.

I'm pretty sure Mlaw leases so I don't think the sale value matters, and odds are Mike is at the vending machines.
