I'm looking on my t.v. guide and notice that Karate Kid is coming on AMC and the new Mad Max movie is coming on HBO tonight. Karate Kid only has 3 stars, but Mad Max has 4 stars. This makes me question the credibility of the star system.

    Long Island Medium.

Just go to Rotten Tomatoes if you care.

This is a great question and something I've wondered about myself. One critic gives a movie three stars and another gives it two. How do they decide which star rating to put on the cable guide?

And yes, Karate Kid is a four star movie. It is far better than Mad Max. Better than The Godfather too.

They gave Private Parts three stars. Must be someone stupid who rates them.
