Who said our youth don't appreciate history these days?

    http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2012/...ed-in-connection-with-cross-burning-incident/

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) –Two men have been arrested Wednesday in connection with a racially charged cross burning incident in Bemidji, police say.
According to authorities, Derek Daniel Barnes, 20, and Ryan Fairbanks Andree, 18, both of Bemidji, are in custody and held under suspicion of committing terroristic threats and using explosive/incendiary devices.
The Beltrami County Attorney’s Office is investigating the incident that took place at about 12:40 a.m. on May 25 when police were notified of a burning cross in someone’s yard in Northern Township. The cross, which the victim had doused already, had a racist message on it and other racist artifacts.

I thought that shit went out of style in the 60's?

I was born in Minnesota and lived there until I was 12. I have really nice memories of that time and sometimes I think I'd like to move back there. It's the winters that keep me from doing so. I used to play with Prince when I was little, but I don't remember him at all.

Don't be so naive. Read the comments section on the article. Gives you a glimpse of the "real" Minnesota, not the watered down Coen brothers version.

I meant the literal burning of crosses, not the racism. Racism is like gold, never goes out of fashion. :coffee:

If I found a burning cross in my yard, I'd blast Monday's "Like a prayer," invite a whole bunch of drag queens in church robes over, and dance and sing like that Pepsi commercial she was fired from. And then I'd have anal sex RIGHT ON THE CROSS. After it's extinguished, of course.

if they were black and burned 12 white people, it wouldn't be a racial crime. just a misunderstanding.

i'm not defending the shitheads who burned the cross BUT, minnesota and especially minneapolis/st paul have been inundated with somalians...yes, somalians who are on welfare, usually have 7+ children, and being muslim brings all the wonderful things for which islam is known.

we will never hear the end of this...meanwhile, there has been a spate of pizza deliverymen murdered while delivering pizza into "poor urban" areas.

I live in MN and just last year there was another incident where a cross was burned in a black mans front yard. After further investigation it was found out that the guy burned the cross in his yard himself for attention. Besides bemidji is hickville.

Yup, largest population of Somalians outside of Somalia is in MN. Even the American blacks fucking hate the Somalians but this was up north in what would be considered Indian country.

    The fuck?
How is this even pronounced? I'm originally from Oklahoma and know many indians, but this doesn't look like anything resembling a Native American word. :weird:

The Ojibwe (also Ojibwa or Ojibway) or Chippewa (also Chippeway) are among the largest groups of Native AmericansFirst Nations north of Mexico. They are divided between Canada and the United States. In Canada, they are the second-largest population among First Nations, surpassed only by Cree. In the United States, they had the fourth-largest population among Native American tribes, surpassed only by Navajo, Cherokee and the Lakota.
