More cards that we get seem the personalized type with pictures of family/pets.
Only if I have a gun to my head!
I send cards, but I only have three to send out! No pictures, but my signature card always has a moon on it.
I only send out a Christmas card when i receive one from somebody as a courtesy.
Store bought card that is non-sectarian.
Pic of the kids from Shutterfly. No family letter yet, but I can tell it's coming.
Anyone still get the whole life story in a card? I had one neighbor that would send out the page long what happened to us this year bullshit.
cards to a select mailing list. never ever a picture or letter.
I love when people send those!!!!
I still send them to anyone who sends them to me. I always go with old time traditional scenes:
You have to be weird to send those out now especially with Facebook.
I thought fb was for teenage girls and hipster guys.
the wife does
usually some xmas picture of the kids type
goes to a lot of family spread out over the country and elsewhere and whatnot
so I suppose that's why she does the picture card
I got an aunt who still sends all us "kids" cards with ten bucks in them
I do look forward to that card
That means my mom is a hipster ~ right Robin?
With pics? -assholes
I send out a family manifesto outlining how everyone has disappointed me during the past year
at Larry inc. we do not have enough time to send out Larrymiss cards . @LawyerLarry will busy doing fundraisers and a picture of LL sells for a couple grand on the open market. now that its getting cold out @ClintDagger will be spending less time on the golf course and be mentoring collge girls and giving them a warm place to stay on these cold nights. @tradioguy69 and @MrPPV will be overseeing and making sure everything is running smooth Larrys winterwonderland its the biggest Larrymiss atraction in the world and not for kids. @ShutUpSitDown will be paying visits to homeless shelters making sure those nasty grinches are off the street and ready to be dumped in the north pole. @EDDIEVRULZ and i will be drinking eggnog and will be writing our lists to Larry claus. but we already have everything but more is always better.
In the past I always sent out a picture of the kids or our whole family. But I haven't the last few years- just haven't been motivated with how crazy busy I get. But the fb explanation does make sense. I'm not on fb, but seems like seeing pictures of everyone constantly has taken away from the urgency (not sure that's the right word?) to want to see these picture cards. I do like to get them- pictures of my cousins kids who I rarely see, I'm just not motivated to send them out. Maybe because my kids are older now
I do get one card every year with the life story in it- wife of one of my husbands friends. They live far away so we have only met her one or two times. And she seems great, like a fun person. I do love to snark on her letter and rip it to shreds! And here is the funny thing- she writes it in a comical way and has for about 18 years- like this: "Omg you wouldn't believe this- I actually caught Johnny drinking a fifth of vodka, so hard being a mom to these kids, blah blah blah oh wait he is also the hockey star or valedictorian blah blah blah" so she throws it out there how crazy her life is but then also throws in all the bragging too. It's annoying but highly fascinating. She is a good writer but idk, it's the same thing over and over again...on one hand I look forward to it and on the other hand it the same old thing and annoys me.
I usually only send 10 out, this year I'm only sending one to my aunt and father
and the picture is already on the front of the card
I think my cousins are still sending card to my old address from 3 years ago, they don't bother to check the return address and I sent cards out early last year.
No I don't send them anymore. My friend excitedly told me, 2 days ago, that she received her first card!!! I sincerly don't get it. I think they are are a waste of time, money and postage in today's world.
