Who sees NFL action first?
Kaepernick, only because he's (sort of) still in the league.
Kaep will get cut this week. He'll be someone's 3rd string QB next season.
e .) Geno Smith
That's a good pick, too.
Tebow is trying baseball now
The black guy.
i think he's still the #2. not sure if Bryce Petty, or rookie Hackenberg, are moving up depth chart soon or not. but i can see Fitzpatrick getting hurt or having a subpar yr.
odds on Colin playing a snap in NFL vs Tim Tebow getting an at bat in minor league baseball/ MLB
Damn running quarterbacks
Remember when Kaepernick was being hailed as the new benchmark for NFL quarterbacks?
After so many years of watching Alex Smith throw it either over the rec head or in the dirt at their feet anyone was an improvment
Really the Jets got their fingers crossed that Hack or Petty get hurt in the last preseason game, so they can park one on IR.
Manziel literally can't take a snap until October; he's been suspended for 4 games.
But he'll never take another snap in a regular season game ever again. He's too far behind the 8-ball, literally and figuratively.
Also, there just aren't that many openings. For a league that isn't flush with QB talent, just about every team is set at QB for the next 2-3 years (barring injury, of course). Except maybe, ironically, the team he fucked himself off of.
Browns, Jets, and 49ers. Every other team has their guy at QB, or thinks they do/will have (Rams and Eagles). The Browns obviously hope they do, but let's see how RGIII looks in the regular season, and if he can make it through it.
And if Wentz is ready to start for the Eagles next season, I'm sure they'll say goodbye to Bradford.
So Johnny will have to compete next off-season with Bradford, Kaepernick, and all the prospects coming out of college, for one of 3 openings, but it's really only 2 for him, as Cleveland sure as fuck isn't going to ask him back. Gotta figure the 49ers and Jets will look to draft a QB next season, or, failing that, have Bradford (if he's healthy) and Kaepernick rated much, much higher than Manziel.
So Manziel's looking at clipboard city. The problem with that is that Johnny would make an even worse back-up QB than a starting one. Back-up QBs usually live in the film room, not the Viper Room (dig that dated reference!).
It's over, Johnny!
Just trade Geno to the Boys for a 7th
