To be diagnosed you have to match 5 of 9 criteria to have NPD. I started listening not long before the Narcissism test, and have come to the conclusion Howard likely faked his answers. Robin may actually meet fewer of the criteria than Howard. From the DSM. Discuss, show your work.

    1. An exaggerated sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)

    2.
Preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love

    3. Believes he is "special" and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)

    4. Requires excessive admiration

    5. Has a sense of entitlement

    6. Selfishly takes advantage of others to achieve his own ends

    7. Lacks empathy

    8. Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him

    9. Shows arrogant, haughty, patronizing, or contemptuous behaviors or attitudes

I think it's just one of the myriad of disorders that he "suffers" from.

I think this NPD is bs. Almost every teen matches 8 for 9. I would say no he really doesnt match 5 when you think about it. I think OCD and baldness yes though.

Remember, he is a performer doing an act. Sure, the act may have many similarities to the "real" Howard Stern but to base a mental diagnosis on radio schtick is a little silly.

But yes, he does live with NPD.

Howard didn't tell the truth but knew exactly how to answer that Narcissism Test so he wouldn't get a high score. He should have beat Robin.

He's said it before so it's no surprise. The amount of praise he gets would make a regular healthy person feel uncomfortable.

howard graduated from boston university, he was magna cum laude, so it is safe assume that he can master a test, moreover, his nearly 20 years of intense therapy would give him insight on his npd

To be fair, it was in radio communications.

I thought this was an interesting topic because Howard says he goes to therapy 3x a week, yet the general consensus is that NPD cannot be treated. That would jive with this diagnosis. Apologies for the pathetic organization.

I think he has NPD as well as Body Dysmorphic Disorder, which is a weird combination. Between the two it explains a lot of his insanity.

    • Preoccupation with your physical appearance with extreme self-consciousness
    • Frequent examination of yourself in the mirror, or the opposite, avoidance of mirrors altogether
    • Strong belief that you have an abnormality or defect in your appearance that makes you ugly
    • Belief that others take special notice of your appearance in a negative way
    • Avoidance of social situations
    • Feeling the need to stay housebound
    • The need to seek reassurance about your appearance from others
    • Frequent cosmetic procedures with little satisfaction
    • Excessive grooming, such as hair plucking or skin picking, or excessive exercise in an unsuccessful effort to improve the flaw
    • The need to grow a beard or wear excessive makeup or clothing to camouflage perceived flaws
    • Comparison of your appearance with that of others
    • Reluctance to appear in pictures

That fact that he really is legendarily ugly probably doesn't help.

I think the correct diagnosis of Wigward is more accurately Douchebagitis faggotryosis.
