They're not going to make me forget the Most Interesting Man in the World, Mayhem, or the Real Men of Genius, but yeah, they're pretty good.
he plays lame Rob pretty convincingly
They annoy me.
I do like the "I'm watching people swim" line.
They're clever and fresh the first few viewings, so "yes." However, the more frequently each one is shown, the more tedious it becomes with the stale punchline ... and I would assume the more viewers mentally tune out.
Mayhem is very very funny.
Mountain Dew's "Dale call" is funny too
Creepy Rob Lowe rubbing Normal Rob Lowe's back, and Normal Rob Lowe's reaction to it, make me laugh every time. As does the wandering eye on ugly Rob Lowe.
They were the first 72 times they were aired.
And an ugly guy pretty convincingly too.
Forgot about Real Men of Genius...funny stuff.
That's my issue with them. Enjoy them the 1st time through but with repeated viewings I begin picking them apart like the "Flo" commercials.
Remember the short-lived TV series based on a series of commercials featuring a couple of Neanderthals commenting on how tiresome it was having their intelligence under appreciated?
Remember Joe Isuzu?
(waiting for the cable installer) "I hope it's not a girl...or a guy"
they remind me of his great character Eddie Nero in Califorication
yeah, i do. I think those Neanderthals predated The Geico Gecko. They were cute the first or second time around and then outwore their welcome. The Gecko is pretty clever and the Geico Ad Agency is smart enough not to oversaturate the campaign or each spot. They mix it up with other campaigns, like the 15mins will save you. and shelves each city for awhile. I do get tired of them, but IMO because they're memorable, communicate a simple message while entertaining and don't outwear their welcome to any great degree, they're successful in conveying brand recognition and getting their point across
Now speaking about inventive ads, I really do respect the copywriters of the eInsurance campaign which depicts themselves as modern and quick as compared to Geico. I still get a kick out of the old lady playing candy crunch with a hammer or the other one "posting" photos to her wall and "unfriending' her skeptical friend. Entertaining and communicates the message that if you think Geico's 15 minutes and resulting savings is hot shit, you're an out of step old fogie cuz there's a new sheriff in town.
I hate the Flo commercials, mostly due to Flo. Flo is a turn off. Not a fan.
She does character actor work & has a few roles in some big movies as one of our fellow shredders posted a year or 2 back.
I think she lives in Austin & used to do stand-up in L.A.
Saw a picture somewhere of her out of her "Flo" drag. Nice looking mature lady.
I'd like to gag Flo with my cock
