Although I don't like his standup Gilbert (with Artie) provided the most laughs of any comedian on the show.

The "Niggawhat" news read was hysterical with Artie and Gilbert. Classic!

The OP /thread'ed his own thread.

Dice had some classic moments; I just listened to a classic Dice vs. Mark Harris clip.

You can't completely ignore Pat Cooper either, especially if you factor in Billy's reenactment of Pat's infamous meltdown.

    Why all the reverb?!?

But for consistent hilarity, there's nobody close to Gilbert.

    We're not counting Jackie, right?!?

First, lurked for years. Thanks for the laughs. Pat, Sam, and Gilbert. Couldn't go wrong with any of these guys. I'd give a nod to Pat. Incredible energy.

    1. Artie

    2. Gilbert (very close 2nd)

    3. Sour Shoes (oooooooooOOOOOOOooooooo!)

    4. Craig Gass (for whatever reason, his impressions, especially Gene Simmons, used to crack me up!)

i can't believe gilbert is so popular here...he had his moments but he was so annoying and repetitive that most of the time i just wanted him gone. i'm trying to think of other comedians but it's been such a long time since howard had one on...:dontknow:i usuall enjoy comedians who are into topical humor. i thought belzer was funny but that's a million years ago.

Gilbert. His Arthur Godfrey and Merv Griffith era Groucho were unbelievable. Ditto for his Bruce Vilanch.

Gilbert by a mile. Wish the black klugie bit was on YouTube.

Love all his old characters, but the drunken, gay, anti-Semitic Paul Lynde is mah faaaaavorite.
