I'm going to say it was Benny Hill.

"The Benny Hill Show" was usually so funny that my cheeks would hurt from smiling and laughing non-stop.

Just the man's face was funny. And he was brilliant too - he wrote all of the original songs and skits.

The only thing he did not write was the theme song - Yakety Sax.

I got to see Richard Pryor in the mid 90's, he was sitting in a chair the whole time but it was funny and I was so happy to get a chance to see such a legend.

His surname was "Hill", but when he got into show biz, he took the name "Benny" to honor the man that he thought was the funniest of all time, Jack Benny. Benny Hill wasn't my all time favorite, but he's on the list.

Some good choices; I'd have to ponder just where I'd place Rodney within the upper pantheon of "funny," but IMO, he's definitely in the conversation.
