This Apple Watch app will count down your life expectancy BY Alejandro Alba NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Published: Wednesday, March 18, 2015, 3:14 PM Updated: Wednesday, March 18, 2015, 3:14 PM Rehabstudio Rehabstudio has created Life Clock, a new app for the Apple Watch that counts down to your last day in life. You have 57 years, 11 months, two days, nine hours, six minutes and 52 seconds left until you die, and this new Apple Watch app will remind you every step of the way. Life Clock uses personal data to let you know when the things you do affect your life expectancy. For example, if you were to sleep only five hours when you're supposed sleep eight, the app would deduct 26 minutes from your life expectancy. However, if you complete a 30-minute workout session, the app restores 36 minutes to your time. The app, which was created by digital design group Rehabstudio, basically works as an activity tracker that measures both your healthful activity and your indulgence in bad habits. "In essence, the idea is we discount the future in favor of the present," said Tom Le Bree, partner with Rehabstudio, in an interview with WIRED. "Tomorrow, I'm the guy that goes to the gym, quits smoking and stops eating fatty foods. But today I'm going to have one last cigarette." Rehabstudio wants the app to remind users of the future so they can make healthier decisions in the present. Life Clock will launch in April when the Apple Watch hits the consumer market. It will have five different customizable faces that will remind users of their time left on this Earth.
