Why are people taking their dogs everywhere?

A couple of weeks ago, the wife and I flew to L.A. and back for a short vacation. On both flights, we noticed dogs sitting on the laps of one or two passengers, and I saw at least one other person walking one in the airport. I'm now seeing people take them to funerals at my job. I also noticed two at a local Indian casino earlier tonight.

What the fuck is going on with people and their damn dogs?

Your problem is that you flew to LA for vacation. Not enough smog, homeless and house of the star tours where you come from. With all the shit in LA, you are mad at the dogs???

I have absolutely zero problem with people who bring their dogs anywhere as long as they are well behaved.

I have a problem with people bringing their bratty, hyped up on sugar kids everywhere. And don't get me started on those idiots who bring their screaming infants to the movies. Hire a babysitter you cheap fucks.

Because people aren't getting married and having families. They are taking the urge to care for something cute and cuddly and applying it to their pets. I saw a woman pushing a dog in a stroller the other day. I wanted to barf. I'm sorry lady, a dog isn't the same as a child no matter how much you want to believe it is. It's pretty sad and pathetic.

It's about time we're able to bring our pets to more places and hopefully everywhere in the near future.

I think there are some people that are legally allowed to have their dogs with them at all times. They get some kind of doctor's note for "anxiety" or something like that. The dog is supposed to be something that keeps them from going insane I guess? I understand for a blind person, but it's a slippery slope, how far do we let this kind of thing go?

I work wedding receptions a couple times a month. One of them, a woman brought her dog. I was trying to figure out what was going on...but I think it was something like that...one of these people that has to have their dog with them 24/7, or they will have a meltdown...

Yeah, you see it a lot with single urban women these days. They have their career as their priority. But they wish they had a kid. So they get a dog in their little apartment. They're out on the street letting their dog take a shit all time. Poor dog, he belongs in a house with a yard, not a one bedroom apartment. A cat is one thing, but a dog needs a yard.

I love these 'anxiety dogs' ... What the fuck is gonna happen in 10 years when they DIE?!?!? Do the anxious fucks ever think of that? Start drinking like the rest of us.

I've never seen one at a casino, not even a service dog. I've never seen one on a plane but I haven't flown much, but if people don't have anyone to take care of them and they have to go somewhere, they have to go with them on the plane.

We've lost our collective mind. A lot of flights now don't have peanuts because we've gone crazy over peanut allergies. How did people fly 30 years ago? But we can have dogs on the plane. What about people on the plane who are allergic to dogs? Guess they're just screwed.

I'd generally rather be with dogs than people.

1 of 100 dogs you meet are assholes. 1 of 2 people are assholes.

    Agreed.
We lost our family dog this past weekend after 13 years. Died in our arms. Closest I have come to shedding a tear since my dad passed away some 10 years ago. RIP beagle.
