Last night really underscored the fact that all these moderators have no journalistic skills. Quick actually apologized to Trump, when in fact she was correct. If she knew what she was doing she would have had her sources with her questions. These moderators don't know how to pin anyone down, or follow up. They also have obvious political slants that favor certain candidates and policies.
Writers for the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, the Christian Science Monitor---these are the people who should moderate. Christ, even a town hall whit regular people asking questions would be better.

    What say you?

The only decent Talking Heads are David Byrne, Jerry Harrison, Chris Franz and Tina Weymouth.

Journalism died in America years ago. Now it's "infotainment". Journalism classes in college have been replaced with "Reporting for Television and Global Media in the 21'st century"*. Today's reporters are usually failed actors or ex beauty queen contestants or wanna be's. The difference between today's news and that of say 30 years ago is startling.

    * This is a real class offered by Syracuse University. It basically teaches students how to present the news and look good doing it.

And young writers are taught to write click bait. Investigative journalism is pretty much dead. Hopefully society realizes that printed newspapers weren't so bad. They had gravitas, as Keiffer says.

I had some high hopes for the debate last night, since CNBC focuses on the financial sector and is pretty decent, less partisan, but wow, just horrible

Where is Sam Donaldson and Tim Russert when we need them? Politicians hated Donaldson, and Russert was fair to everyone. The big problem is getting all the candidates to agree on formats and moderators. They don't want smart people asking the questions.

Back when they had integrity and made every attempt to be impartial. They took their jobs seriously because they knew the importance of it.

Yes, Yes, Yes, I agree with you. You can have a crippled hand, but if your face is pretty you are signed on. Plus diversity is more important than your ability. Our country is going to hell in a handbasket.
