Everyone should stand as an individual on their own beliefs and morals and not have to follow a party line or have a "we won" team mentality. Congressmen should be able to vote on what they believe will be better for the country and their constituents instead of what will be good for their party. /rant

Totally agree, but it ain't gonna happen. Anyone who is a "successful" politician anymore is bought and paid for, and 95% of the citizens are so hung up on the football mentality... it really makes me sad, scared, and angry....I've become almost apolitical because of it.

Just imagine the confusion a die hard Republican or Democrat would have when they went into a voting booth and didn't see a D or an R in red or blue next to a candidate's name.

I think it's going to be a low turnout and an Obama landslide.

Any steps to remove huge money backing, and the ability to force voters to research positions of various candidates before voting would be good. The party system i think is bullshit at this point, with both sides just being fake difference so that the actual goal of raping us all can be accomplished.

we do; the democrats of today are not the democrats of WWII, and the republicans of today are not the republicans of Abraham Lincoln. it's just that the 2 party system is virtually inevitable in a field where deals are made constantly, jockying for power. a vote for a third party is usually just a protest vote, and usually has the opposite effect: it tends to maintain the status quo

after all, we no longer vote Whig and Tory...
