is that real footage?
the quality seems similar to something like land of the lost.
That film is the one where you can tell Carrie Fisher had been smoking a carton a day to stay thin. Her voice was like elderly Lucille Ball.
What a lot of people don't realize is they slashed the budget for Jedi and cut a lot of production corners, including the people they hired to shoot it. Empire is a big Hollywood epic, and Jedi is TV quality.
She said she smoked joints all through the filming of the first one. Baked like a cake through every scene.
I really cant take the reboot of the nerds...I thought the vampire idiots were bad, then the fucking zombies, now we're back to this gay shit....just get the fuck off my lawn you little bastards
It's true. Compare the two DOPs in terms of their resumes, and that's only part of it. I'd never even considered this until about 6 months ago when a director friend who's also a Star Wars nut laid it all out for me.
It makes since.
I saw it when I was 14 and noticed a "TV" like feel to the movie.
The beginning of the end for Lucas.
If you look at the colour pallets in Empire for things like Dagobah, the Cloud City exteriors, and the carbon freezing chamber, they're all like gorgeous paintings, and a lot of that is the time they took to set up the lighting. In Jedi, they pretty much just point lights at the actors, and the shots are generally a lot tighter because they aren't as proud of the way things look.
I'm paraphrasing my friend here.
I lost my virginity
That's not what I heard.
Who tol' ya dat?
WHO TOL' YA DAT?!?
I heard you lost your virginity to Boba Fett
I lost it to Boba Booey at scout camp.
