i can't see him staying there another 3 1/2 years. all this bad-mouthing he does, saying he can destory the company by going back to regular radio. what other company would allow an employee to say such things?

Everyone keeps listening. They all want to hear what he will say next.

Howard would get a huge sum of money if that was the case....

He is under contract. They can't just fire him. They can probably build a case over time to fire him, but they will probably have to go through a process of giving him written warnings so they can document a series over time of conduct detrimental to the company. One they build up a big enough case, then they can fire him.

That said, I think Sirius is going to give him some rope until they see if AGT gives them any significant bump in their subscriptions. If not (which I suspect will be the case) and Howard continues like this, they will start a process to eventually fire him.

    This.

They would have let his ass go a loooong time ago.

Although if Howard leaves, some people would leave. Then again, if Howard stays and continues to do a shitty show, more people would leave. I wonder if Sirius would break even if they fired him today.

I also wonder if they have the number of actual numbers of listeners when the show is on.

I wonder if his contract has a clause for him giving money back if Sirius loses a certain amount of viewers a year/ That could drive Howard to quit.

I still think the Stern/SiriusXM relationship will end some time before next year's AGT assuming NBC wants him back at the same price or more...oh sorry... same REPUTATION or more. I see Howard cutting a deal with Sirius to let him out of his contract. In fact, I think part of the reason why he wants this lawsuit to continue is so he can exit in the next year and leverage Sirius paying him a large part or all of his remaining contract.

    ---------------

If AGT takes off, I can see Howard negotiating his exit. He can take $15-$20M a year from NBC to work even less than he does now onthe radio. He will be on network TV, get movie premier and celebrity Hampton's party invites to keep Beth around and feed his ego.

I say no more than 3 years on this contract if AGT takes off.

Sort of like how terrestrial radio would die without him. Except I haven't heard of any of his old stations going off the air yet.

As much as e show now sucks, people aren't signing up in droves to listen to Shade45. They need his base. They won't fire him.

I wouldnt be suprised if howard has a 10pm NBC prime time interview type show debuting soon after the AGT finale.

NBC buys stern out of the Sirius contract. No marble loss at all only gains.

First - koclem, your avatars freak me out!!
2nd - that would be interesting, Howchie quitting Sirius. I would be interested to know what the deal with the tapes is, the current stuff. Does 112 Production company own them or does Sirius? I have a feeling that Karmazin knows Howards MO and would probably be able to fuck him over pretty well.

I should certainly hope so, but NBC ought to know him too and they hired the shithead AGAIN.

If Howard or Don read this, you just gave them an idea worth pursuing.
If Howard or Don read this......they should be ashamed of themselves.
