Seems pretty ridiculous that so many states prevent police from pulling over motorists who are not buckled up. Hopefully that changes.

Exactly... we have mandatory helmet laws here in NJ and if I get seen riding without a helmet that's cause for pulling me over.

We're the opposite in Michigan. Republicans passed a law that lets motorcyclists go without a helmet while seat belts are mandatory in cars. I passed a seatbelt sting just last weekend.

Dude if you think that's crazy here in Indiana people who wear motorcycles aren't required by state law to wear helmets

NJ is trying to figure out anyway possible to pull you over to donate to local police pension funds

I got a $400 ticket for talking on the phone while driving. I hope those cops enjoy their $150k salaries for driving in circles and shooting at squirrels

I'm quite sure the human race has concerns more pressing than whether or not they should worry themselves over a seatbelt law. You need a law passed to make you look both ways when walking across the street, or do you pull up your big boy pants and keep yourself alive

Well car accidents only kill 8,000,000% more Americans last year than ISIS did

I wonder how many people were killed by un-belted bodies hurled out of cars?

That guy must have been so hopped up on drugs/alcohol to walk away from that so casually.

He didn't even hesitate. Just popped right up, pulled his shirt down, and started walking.

Meanwhile, I'd wear a 4 pt belt and a helmet while driving if it were socially acceptable.

Speaking of which, it should be equally as important for Law Enforecement to stop and frisk those that actually wear the Canadian tuxedo in public. On purpose. :gayhand:

I am also in Michigan and they passed that law because the neighboring states didn't have helmet laws. After a year they were able to calculate the stats and the number of motorcycle fatalities shot up. With that said, the seat belt law here used to be something they couldn't pull you over for but could add on as an additional ticket once you were stopped for something else. I remember years ago a friend getting a seat beat ticket while she was in the passenger seat. She was only 15 at the time and couldn't drive but already had a traffic ticket on her record.

Curing cancer, geneticallyeliminating diseases(see 3 parent baby just born), and many of these life-saving things are great, but they will cause a population explosion and deficit of funds for retirement years that haven't been addressed yet.

Unless they find a way to make you feel 50 when you're 80, and able to keep working and paying taxes, that's going to be a problem. I say concentrate on the lives who haven't done anything stupid or self-destructive.

The dysgenics of literally paying generally low IQ people to have numerous children they can't support or raise properly is going to swamp the world with violent maladjusted dummies too.
