You keep hearing with these deep throat interviews and page 6 articles that Marci's rationale for gutting 101, gutting the WUS, turning the Stern show into a Charlie Rose interview show, and banning anyone funny is to build Howard's brand. Howard is the star.

Doesn't the stupid fucking idiot understand that all the peripheral characters, comedians and shows actually are what helped Howard become such a big star? Are you going to tell me Gilbert, Artie, decent programming didn't help Howard become more successful?

I'd say no, she clearly thinks her way is better. I still put the blame on Howard, she couldn't destroy the entire show without Howard being a willing participant.

Howard is definitely willing but as an extremely neurotic person - if you've ever had the pleasure of knowing extremely neurotic people they develop a core group of people who they find infallible. Howard finds Marci infallible in his mind

I WISH it turned into a Charlie Rose interview show. No such luck.

Stern made fun of Charlie Rose for 20 years for not being successful and super-rich -- now he's copying the fucking guy.

I think it's a brilliant strategy by Ms. Turk. What better way to build brand support in the coveted 18 to 54 demographic than by focusing 100% of the spotlight on a frail, cock obsessed, 60 something cat lady and her rapidly approaching 50 years old gold digger of a wife?

Screw Gilbert and/or any other truly talented comedian, I want more of Wiggy's 'joke monologue' that just absolutely killed for those 5 minutes last year.

Maybe, but it doesn't change anything. In the end, Howard let it happen.

Or let's get another three hours of Kyle Dunigan doing that horrible Trump impression. So smart, witty and inoffensive.

I've had people ask me why I listen to Stern and my reply is always that it's the greatest workplace comedy I've ever listened to. The peripheral characters are the ones who make the show. Howard is simply a ringleader and definitely not my favorite.

The show was getting shitty before she came. She just made a bad situation worse. Stern is the real problem.

Being the ringleader made his career going back to the Jackie and Stuttering John days.

You can tell Marci never listened to the show before getting hired to be "the fixer." She doesn't understand the essence of Howard's celebrity

Marci has no credentials...let alone relevent or related ones.

She was an unsuccessful, much traveled insurance sales person before she hooked up with the getting things done cult as a presenter. Her rez showed no upward mobility which means the companies which knew her best, never thought enough to promote her. Likewise, in a sales environment, especially insurance where the real money is made through residuals over the long haul, she obviously bombed out as her tenures were no longer than 2 years or so in 2 different companies.

Essentially, entrusting her "vision" to the Stern Show's success is analogous to entrusting your air flight to Stevie Wonder in the cockpit.

To an extent I agree. Howard was headed in this direction since the late 90's but Artie's tenure delayed it by about 8-9 years.

That said why is 101 basically a ghost town now? It's entire original programming consists of a once per month 15 minute podcast by Greg Fitzsimmons

I agree totally. I went to high school with a lot of self-entitled, no talent Long Island princesses like Marci. I wouldn't give her a job mopping a floor let alone managing the Stern show and two channels

If memory serves, Howard never had a problem standing up to management whenever it suited him. He even did it on the air a few times.

Howard is just a pussy whipped sellout at this point. Marci is more like a symptom of the problem, ultimately, the fault lies with Howard.

^^^This. There is only one person to blame for the wig being the sellout faggot that he is. Not marci, not beth... howard. Always has been, always will be.

F.U. money didn't help the show either.

As it turned out, the freedom of Sirius left him with no management left to hate.

The dude is what...61, 62? the show was great when Howard was in his early 30's and still hungry.
I think I'd lose my drive too if my Boss was willing to pay me close to 700 million for 12 hours of work a week.

Actually Wiggy makes it happen. Turk doesn't do anything without Wiggy's approval.
