I've never quite understood this. Is it just about the hype, or is it because it takes that long to produce the 26 hours of pregame bullshit on SB Sunday??

My prediction is Panthers 34, Broncos 13 btw

They did that because the Pro Bowl use to be on after the superbowl and no one would watch. NOW it's 1 week after that borefest the Pro bowl

I'm fine with waiting 2 weeks, but the Super Bowl should be played on a Saturday. They start the game pretty late and everybody has to be at work the next day.

Turning the Monday after the Super Bowl into a federal holiday would be much more useful than half the other federal holidays.

Unless Brock Osweiller plays, the whole thing is a farce.

    All about the hype.

But, letting the teams get as healthy as possible is a good thing too.

Now if they'd just move the game to Saturday night.

I agree with that and I live on the West Coast, land of the 3:40pm Super Bowl kickoff. By the time all the bullshit is over, it's at least 8:30-9, and you gotta head back from the party to your place. I think it sucks, but then I think about what everybody back east gets stuck with.

How about playing the Super Bowl on Presidents Day weekend, Monday is a holiday anyway.

That would fit in with the NFL wanting to expand the season from 16 to 18 games.
