Start buying up any Beth related domain names Taylor Swift reportedly bought '.porn' domain so Internet trolls couldn't BY Alejandro Alba NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Sunday, March 22, 2015, 3:36 PM Joel Ryan/Invision/AP Taylor Swift’s team reportedly bought the domains taylorswift.adult and taylorswift.porn so other people couldn’t. "This webpage is not available" is probably the message you'll get when you type "taylorswift.porn" on your browser's URL bar. That's because Taylor Swift reportedly bought the domain to prevent from online trolls posting porn-related material to a domain associated with her name. Starting on June 1, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers will let anyone purchase domains ending in .sucks, .adult and .porn among 547 other options. ICANN will also be letting public figures—like Swift—and companies get ahead of the game and purchase domains before anyone else can. Stuart Lawley, CEO of ICM Registry, which will manage the .porn and .adult domains, told CNN that Swift's team already purchased taylorswift.porn and taylorswift.adult. Microsoft also bought out the domains Office.porn and Office.adult to avoid porn-related material to be attached to the brand. Many trolls will probably rush to create domains with .porn or .sucks attached to a celebrity's name, but if a company or public figure wants to buy it out, it'll cost them up to $2,500. Domains with the suffix .sucks will be managed by another company named Vox Populi Registry.
