I'm sure he's proud of this one.
I don't think Howard leaving Sirius will cause more than ripple for them.
If it looks like a Buchwald..and if it quacks like a Buchwald....it's probably a Buchwald.
Ground Control to Major Nance
If an astronut falls out of the sky and no one is around that cares....?
May buy stock when idiots sell based on Howard leaving. Then watch it go up as the financials come out stronger than ever because he has 1/10 the listeners of nfl radio even
(DS News reference)
3.90 a share as of today
30,000,000 listeners each paying an average of $10/month equals $300,000,000/ month.
Take away the 5% that said they'd consider leaving if howard left, divide by 2 to get the propable number of people leaving (assuming Sirius management aren't dolts and offer an incentive for people to stay) and Sirius loses $7,500,000 per month in revenue.
Compare that with approx. $10,000,000 / mo in expenses to keep howard. Even if howard pulled the entire 5%, Sirius still only takes a $5,000,000/ hit.
If it wasn't for howard promoting the fuck out of his contract negotiations and buying articles like this one, nobody would even notice if Howard went off the air.
Actually looks like one of his photoshops.
Nobody I know cares, and I know a lot of people.
yeah, no one posted this this morning
Probably is... He probably provides the phot and the article
I hope that's the air hose he's about to cut.
SIRIUS-XM will be pulled apart and sold off within the next five years. The business model makes NO sense at present; the patents on the technology is the only part of the company worth owning; and this is why the market has consistently said that SIRIUS is a flat stock for the past ten years. It has not passed $10 a share since the FIRST dot-com bust. It is a speculative play by any measure for a publicly traded company.
With or without the Wig, SIRIUS-XM is a company that made sense in 1995, not 2015.
Not sure where you got those numbers.
I have Sirius for $40 a YEAR since January 2012. Not kidding. Renegotiated three years ago saying Howard wasn't worth it. They gave me every channel --every one of them, including Howard that I forget is available. I still don't listen to him. The traffic announcement and sports channels are great along with some news channels.
Told my friends the deal I have. They renegotiated before their contract terminated.
Oh look, Howard the Astronaut has landed:
30 mil subs, half don't get Wiggy, leaves 15 mil.
12% listen for Wiggy, 1.8 mil subs.
If 5% of Wiggy listeners leave, that's 90,000 subs.
Even if all 90K pay $19 a month, that's $20,520,000 annually.
Financially, a net win for Siri if Wiggy leaves
First two hours of programming tomorrow.
