And with that, SiriusXM will be looking to fuck those of us who ponied up for lifetime subs even harder than they already are now.

The lost that Turtles lawsuit they have to pay now for the pre 1972 music.
    I don't think it's because of Wiggy.
They should credit everyone $1 a month for the last three months the new app has been out.

    I cancelled in December.
About a month back I started getting email about the $20 for 5 months.
    I re-upped about 2 weeks back.
Have yet to listen to 100 or 101.
Will only re-up again if they match the $20 offer.

PAID ONE PRICE of 325.00 way back when they first started Sirius.
That price is good for a receiver and then the life of a second receiver.
Somehow.....my first receiver is still kicking after a decade! :)

    SUCK IT SIRIUS!!

How is a lifetime subscription affected?
I've never been asked to pay another cent. The only difference was internet access was not included. It did not exist at the time.

Lifetime subscribers were Sirius exec's best friends and saviors when they were locked in their death match with XM. But before the ink was dry on the merger, we became the bane of their existence.

They started out by declaring after only a few years that, contrary to what any reasonable person would assume, "lifetime" didn't really mean what we all thought it meant. They began to claim that lifetime referred only to the life of the radio that you purchased with your subscription, not the lifetime of the subscriber. At some point they actually added fine print to the subscription contract agreement that they hoped would legally support their fraud. The problems with this were twofold. 1) Most people subscribed over the phone and thus were never exposed to this fine print (which they wouldn't have read anyway) and Sirius never made any effort to ensure that this policy was known to the consumer. 2) This scam policy also quickly ran afoul of the reality that their hardware was shit. How could you tell somebody that their $400 lifetime sub was null and void after their $300 Stiletto shit the bed after only four months?

As a result, they went a few more years where they didn't really try to enforce this policy. Then they changed gears again and tried to claim that the lifetime subscription was tied to the life of some arbitrary number of radios. I think that number is three at present. But even at that, most Stiletto users would go through three radios in 18 months. Now when you try to activate a replacement radio, they'll first try to cancel your sub and if you put up too much of a fight, then they'll try to charge you a $75 "activation" fee.

Another way they fucked with us is by rescinding lifetime subscribers' access to any connectivity via mobile devices. When we purchased our subs, we could listen on our radios, our computers, or are smartphones and tablets. As soon as they killed all the 3rd party apps and launched their own crap app, we were left on the outs with our dicks in our hands. Now they barely make any new radios - which hurts everyone, but it of course hurts folks who don't have access to the mobile apps worse.
