they'll be great for me -- many of the rest of you are probably screwed -- no end in sight to the housing crisis, no end in sight to the recession -- learn Chinese

I think Cuba will open, which will be great for them -- a new vacation spot for Americans
I think China will continue to integrate itself into the world economy, which is good for everyone (though a disaster for domestic production jobs
I think North Korea will start to thaw a bit -- maybe even unify with the South
I think Russia will continue to be a mob-state
Congress will flip back and forth and continue to be as awful as it always has been
India will continue to be a cesspool
There will be a massive earthquake in California
They may even build something in the World Trade Center spot
the real question mark for me is Iran -- if it get's nukes, it won't use them
the price of oil will continue to rise as India and China gobble up more of the middle eastern oil supply
music will continue to suck ass
The Beatles will find yet another format to sell their songs to consumers
high speed internet will be placed in every car and will be available wirelessly almost everywhere and at faster speeds

the one thing I really care about, is a laptop battery that will last all day -- i think they are using nanotechnology to solve that problem

...why the dig on the Beatles? Their availability on iTunes was momentous because they held out for so long. They're like the LAST major band to become available there. What other platforms are they available on that every other significant band is not?

I agree with all your statements, but I'd change "Beatles" to "Kiss".

I heard somewhere that Gene Simmons is currently in negotiations to replace the loud swishing sound of the toilets at the rest stops on the NJ Turnpike with a Kiss "Deuce" flush tone. It'll only cost .49 per flush.

He also wanted to use a toilet paper that was shaped like his tongue, but decided that would be selling out.

    True story.

it was more an observation than a dig, and is probably more a function of their longevity than anything else

I mean, first it was albums and singles, then cassettes and 8-track, then CDs, now iTunes -- add to that the compilations, greatest hits albums, anthologies and the mono box and then the stereo box, then naked Let It Be -- how many times and in how many different ways are we expected to pay for the same songs! not to mention all the ways the songs have been used to pull us into paying attention to advertisements that simply waste our time because we love the music and stop to listen to it under a pitchman's voice

seeing their itunes box set card sold at Target for a couple hundred bucks really rubbed me the wrong way for some reason -- it just seems like whoever owns/manages their catalog takes every opportunity to squeeze a few more nickles out of the fans -- just put it in the public domain -- enough is enough!

they've been REALLY short for me lately -- I tuned in today for about 5 minutes -- he was re-telling the "We're so cold" parent story for the 100th time, and I bailed
