synopsis: With the help of his mentor, a slave-turned-bounty hunter sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner. here's the trailer i had an argument the other day with a Leonardo DiCaprio fan. i told her that it wouldn't do as well as inglourious basterds because of the political environment in the states. With a black president, affirmative action and the rise of white unemployment, i just don't think a revenge film against Mr evil whitey is going to do well in middle America. to be honest, i didn't think inglourious basterds was going to do as well as it did because of a similar argument, yet it made $300 mil. i think this time is different though due to what American media focuses on. pulpfiction is one of the best films ever made. tarantino is one of the best directors out there, his only film i didn't really like was kill bill 2. i have no doubt that this film will be awesome, but do you think the nature of the film will hurt it at the box office ?
