Leno, Fallon score in latenight for NBC: 'Tonight' tops CBS' 'Late' for seventh straight week

"It may have been David Letterman celebrating a milestone last week, but it was Jay Leno that prevailed in the ratings race.

NBC's "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" edged out CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" for the Jan. 30-Feb. 3 frame in adults 18-49 (1.11 million to 1.08 million), giving the Peacock show the advantage for a seventh straight week, according to Nielsen.

Letterman celebrated his 30th year in latenight with Wednesday's show featuring Howard Stern as guest. On that night, "Tonight Show" topped "Late Show" in both adults 18-49 (1.16 million vs. 1.10 million) and total viewers (3.82m vs. 3.26m)."

That's not a big difference though. Not big enough to discuss.

but the castrated one is suppose to be ratings gold...why else did you think AGT hired him???...I think the Letterman failure is a precursor of a ratings failure on AGT...

In the past has Letterman beat Leno in ratings when Howard was on?

    3.82 to 3.26 isn't exactly a severe drubbing
Leno isn't the ratings monster he was before
    the whole Conan debacle

Those are some curious numbers. Strange that so few of Howard's 20 million listeners tuned in, must have been 8 people watching each TV monitor.

You don't think if Letterman won 3.82 to 3.26 Howie wouldn't be crowing about it all week?

Of course he'll never acknowledge this - the funny thing would be if he ends up going on Leno and Letterman wins the ratings for that night.

Howie could get away with lying about ratings prior to the internet when the New York media would cover for him. :oy2:

Never, he will ignore it. If he is ever called out on it he will lie and say he was number one that night.

If he ever did (and he won't) he'll have Jon Hein in the studio pronto with some warped stats about some weird demographic that doesn't exist that Howard and Dave blew Leno out of the water on. If that's not enough to sway you, a convenient phone call from Vinny, the VP of CBS Late Night to explain it all to you......

The only reason he had Howard on was because Letterman is lazy and 30 isn't an important milestone. 10, 25, maybe 40 and 50 are.
