It has been about 15 months since they shut down Howard TV. It is the perfect time to give that touching tribute to Doug Goodstein and Gange after he returns from LA.

There is no upside for him in discussing a failed venture or what the ex employee's are currently doing. He also said that he was going to have a big announcement about HTV's replacement that never occurred so he would not want to discuss that either.

Howard's excuse is like most businesses, when they fire an employee they don't talk about it publically and draw attention to it. They claim they do that in order to protect that employee so they don't hurt his or her chances for future employment.

The entertainment industry is different. Just like professional sports you can publically announce a person has been let go without fear of retribution. The Howard TV example is all about Howard's ego over loyalty to employees, some of whom had been with him since 1994.

With the radio show the amount of listeners really doesn't matter because it is about total subscriptions. The TV show was different. You had a segment paying directly for a particular Howard product. Those fees paid for the crew and all the equipment. When their aren't enough Howard TV subscribers to fund that department it no longer becomes profitable. Instead of Howard putting in some of his own marbles he let it die.

If he had a big send off for the guys, which he should have done, he would have to admit that there are so few Howard TV subscribers that they can't even pay for the staff. Instead he sweeps it under the rug and hides behind the premise that something bigger in the TV world is coming. That was what 2 years ago? Don't hold your breath.

His ego far exceeds loyalty to staff and listeners and far outweighs honesty and transparency.
