(CNN)Debris found in the western Indian Ocean on Wednesday appears to be part of a Boeing 777, the same model as Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 that disappeared in 2014, according to a source close to the investigation.

The source said there is a unique element to the Boeing 777's flaperon, a wing component, that Boeing observers believe they are seeing in photos.

...if its not from 370 that go ahead and knock me over with a feather. the mystery continues tho because it still doesnt help pinpoint the crash site. this is debris that currents took for a ride.

...i think thats the one. remember it was going to vietnam then turned around back toward where it came from then set course south. they surmised it crashed somewhere off the west coast of australia. there were barnacles clinging to the piece they found so maybe an a marine biologist can shed some light on timeline.

...there were 2 that disappeared in separate incidents. the maylaysians have a knack for losing large planes full of people.

The only missing 777 in the world is flight 370 so if it's a 777 part, we will know for sure of its origins.
