Apparently, there is a push to get the FDA to finally approve Flibanserin (Women's Viagra, Little Pink Pill). My question is for the ladies of the shed. Would you use such a product? I've found that marijuana is probably the best libido enhancer out there. I'm not sure Women's Viagra is all that effective but I think women should be given the opportunity to try it out. Women are claiming sexism for keeping it away from them.

Like every other medication, its nice that it is available if needed and you had sexual dysfunction.
I honestly didn't read the article, so what effect does it have? Does it make the woman lubricate faster and make her clitoris more sensitive? What does it actually do for the female anatomy?

What seems to be more in need is a cure for menopause. I don't think hormone replacement is good enough.

    Amen to that! :ohno:
If they can find a way to deal with hotflashes, other than hormone replacement, it would seriously change lives.

 sorry, didn't mean to get all serious...

 ...or remind everyone that I'm old....

I think they treat various symptoms. No "cure" yet.

I'm an ignorant fellow and never heard of this disorder.

    From the article:
Flibanserin is more than curing a weak libido. It’s specifically for treating Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, or HSDD. Gynecologist and sexual health crusader Dr. Lauren Streicher explained that HSDD goes much deeper than just a low sex drive.

“[HSDD] is a very specific problem in a woman who doesn’t think about sex, she doesn’t fantasize, she doesn’t desire sex,” Streicher said. “What makes it different is that it’s distressing to her. This has a negative impact on her. She’s worried about it, she’s frustrated.”

According to the International Journal of Women’s Health, as many as 1 in 10 women suffer from HSDD. While many doctors agree HSDD is a problem that should be addressed, there are no medical treatment options.

My wife went into early menopause in her late 30's. Hormone replacement helps but it isn't by any means ideal.

This won't affect a broad's hormones will it? I'm already dancing on a minefield as it is.

Not to make light of her issues, but did it make your sex life better once she stopped getting her period? I know it's made a difference in THIS house. ;) It's nice to not have much "hands off" time anymore.

(sorry, I know that's nosy...feel free to tell me to :stfusign:)

Again. I don't know from this. But I've had friends from college age to 40s who admit to just not feeling that sexual.

    Again...makes me feel :(

I can't ever think of a time when I DIDN'T want sex. If it were up to me, we'd be doing it 3 or 4 times a day, every day, around here.

I'm starting to think I'M the one with the problem...maybe I'm oversexed? :dontknow:
