This interview showed that Howard is clueless about alcohol and drug addition. Joe talked about how he was giving himself excuses for taking drugs and drinking alcohol because he made great albums and played great concerts fucked up and Howard kept on talking about the reason why Joe did drugs was because he thought it made a better musician and not because he was addicted and used anything for an excuse for his habit.

No wonder why he enabled Hank to drink himself into an early death and looked the other way while guys close to him like Artie and Sam Kinison spiraled down hill. The guy has a junior high school understanding about drug and alcohol addiction.

It wouldn't surprise me if Joe falls onto the "never invite back" list. Not only was he cogent and way smarter than the questions being asked of him, there was a strong note of disgust coming from Joe after Howard interrupts his new song to ask "why are you happy now?", and he says, "Well, I could tell you, or you could simply LISTEN TO THE SONG." Joe was in to promote his new solo CD that breaks this week, and after an hour of dancing with Howard, he wanted to at least get one cut from the CD on the air.

Yes, he said he is very happy. And grateful that he is alive. He said that he owes his fellow bandmembers for saving his life.
    Great guest.

Funny, how he turns all of his interviews these days into psychotherapy sessions for his guests, I would think otherwise. There is certainly nothing shocking about this jock anymore.

The thing is that my 14 year old niece has a better understanding about drugs and alcohol abuse than Howard does. She could tell that Joe was using those examples as an excuse for his habit and not that they really made him a better musician or song writer. My 5 year old niece could have told Artie was on drugs based on listening to the radio nevermind seeing him every day.

BTW, I missed most of the interview, but I was waiting for him to talk about how Stevie Nicks also dated Don Henley. I couldn't care less about the stupid song she wrote about him. I wanted to know who she dated first and whether there was a Fleetwood Mac type of friction going on. Was this ever mentioned?

Howard can let NO song play without interrupting. Simply because he "thinks" he knows something about music. He starts talking about playing with Jimi, and Howie immediately butts in and steers the conversation elsewhere.
Howard has lost his touch in interviewing, and has never known anything about music.

    Yeah. He's a judge...

Howard knows nothing of pre-Stevie Fleetwood Mac.
My favorite FM album has no Stevie in it anywhere.
