Lifetime .331 hitter? JR was badass and died way too young.

So maybe it's about the black hero thing that makes it so hard for him to watch. :bigthink:

Did Howard really say it was too painful.

I could see how a fruit who likes watching gay reality shows would bristle over having to sit through a two hour movie about a sports hero with countless baseball scenes.

BTW, I saw it and liked it alot. As a baseball fan I appreciate how well the baseball scenes were filmed and how the actors came across very convincingly as pro atheletes. It was also awesome seeing the recreations of ebbetts field, polo grounds, forbes field, and crosley field

Howard should be forced to watch all of the "racial" skits he's created over the years - Clockwork Orange-style.

Sorry about that, I transposed that 3. You're right, it was .311. JR used to lunge at the ball and was "wristy." It obviously worked for him. Lifetime over .300 is nothing to sneeze at. RIP JR.

I think that's the problem. For whatever reason, this well over 6' tall guy never did a goddam thing athletically in his life other than "jog." I am still amazed that no one in high school ever thought to try to get Howard out for basketball. You can't teach height.

Anyway, he is not a regular guy like you and me that likes sports and kicking back with friends while having a few cold ones. He has no frame of reference for enjoying 42, and would probably get lost the second they start talking any type of baseball jargon.

You forget about his "black belt" in karate. Can you imagine those gangly limbs flailing around?

Oftentimes, Howard shits on something based upon nothing more than what he heard from someone a movie is about but I guarantee you, if you forced the old codger to see in a chair for 2 hours and watch it, he'd change his tune, all together.

He's very flighty in his opinions. And he's not very refined.

    Nouveau-riche trash.
