His cartel brings in 100 million a week. 99% of the drugs make it into the US. It begs the question, who is getting paid?

Amado Carrillo Fuentes (the most powerful drug lord in the world before his death) was paying more than $800 million a year in bribes:

Anyway, there will never be another drug lord like Pablo Escobar. 30 billion. It's a shame he went into politics and got all psychotic over it, if he had stayed quite he would have been fine.

Rafael Caro Quintero had a fleet of Bowing 747's that he used to fly tons of cocaine into the US. You tell me that no US official knew about that :rolleye:

Well the guy had a lot of money. Any of his prison guards could've gone rogue and killed him. But he wet everyone's beak. He didn't escape, they opened the doors for him I'm sure.

He probably had a 5 star suite as a cell. and plenty of cartel members as protection.

But again you have to hand it to Pablo. He built his own luxury prison, sold it to the government and had the the guards on his payroll :jj:
